– a guide to
compliance
W
hen it comes to regulation, it is easy to get lost amid the plethora of new rules, updated
requirements and complex legislation. It is a significant challenge to ensure that operations
are fully compliant with wide-ranging regulations. However, taking a proactive approach to
compliance, not only improves the safety of the equipment and employees, but also prevents
potential fines and downtime that could result from non-compliance. A timely example is the pressure equipment
directive (PED), which also applies to piping. Despite a strong focus on rigorous health, safety and environment
(HSE) standards, many businesses are not aware of the requirements of the PED or if they apply to their operations.
