s global demand for hydrocarbon resources continues to remain high,
achieving the best possible utilisation of oil and gas fields becomes ever
more important. For older fields, this typically means achieving enhanced
oil recovery through the injection of media, to optimise flowrates.
However, many fields also contain significant levels of H
2
S (also known as sour gas).
The presence of H
2
S and other gases, as well as surges in the well, has the potential
to cause overpressurisation of systems that could damage downstream refineries and
